Brevard, NC – Perfect Balance Physical Therapy proudly announces the addition of their newest therapist at their Brevard location. Former Brevard College athlete and Salisbury, NC native, Dr. Alex Litaker, DPT recently made Perfect Balance Physical Therapy his new home but has been part of the clinic’s family long before accepting a permanent position. After majoring in Exercise Science and graduating with a Bachelor of Science from BC, he continued on to Western Carolina University to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Owner, Dawn Rouse, could not be more proud, “Alex has already supplemented his degree by taking courses above the requirements of a new graduate which has given him greater exposure to advanced techniques and procedures resulting in improved outcomes for his patients.” She goes on to describe their long history together. “I have known him since he was a Brevard College student and pitcher for the college’s baseball team. Even when he volunteered at Perfect Balance during his time as a student, he consistently impressed me.”
Litaker’s experience in collegiate athletics will allow him to treat an important group of patients suffering from orthopedic conditions and sports or work-related injuries. His love for learning new techniques and passion for helping patients is apparent. “I knew within the first month of mentoring Alex that he had all the necessary ingredients to be an exceptional physical therapist. I maintained contact with him throughout his time at Western in hopes that he would join our team after graduation,” stated Rouse.
Litaker will make a big impact in the community by guiding his patients into more active and pain-free lives. It is evident that Litaker is a perfect fit for Perfect Balance Physical Therapy. When asked why he chose Perfect Balance, he reflected by stating, “As a student, I was extremely impressed by the combination of high quality care delivered and the family culture fostered at PBPT.” Litaker was able to attest to Perfect Balance Physical Therapy’s reputation as a choice provider in top-notch care from first-hand experience. “Not only was I a student and volunteer, but also a patient. In fact, I received some wonderful treatment for my shoulder prior to my senior year and last season of pitching at BC. When I was given the opportunity to join the staff, it was an easy decision. I am extremely proud to call myself a member of the Perfect Balance Physical Therapy team.”
