New York times article says that 2 new studies show ankle sprains may have long-term health consequences, and recommends seeking the help of a physical therapist (PT).Those who suffered a sprain had balance problems and were less active well after healing. The article warns against looking at sprains as a minor injury and describes the effects as "more substantial and lingering, potentially altering how well and often someone moves, for life". "If you have sprained an ankle in the past, even if the injury seems healed, consider balance testing by a PT to determine whether you are more wobbly than you suspect," Reynolds wrote.
